Sacrament Sunday
Dear Parent:
If you received this letter it is because your child is enrolled to receive his/her First Holy Communion this school year. This letter contains a lot of important information that you must take the time to read and take action on as required. Updates will be in the weekly bulletin, www.stcce.net website, posted on the CCE bulletin board at the school entrance, and in postcards sent to the mailing address we have on file.
Additionally, you may add yourself to our STCCE Advisory email blast by sending a blank email to info-subscribe@stcce.net.
Children enrolled in CCE are not automatically enrolled in Sacrament Sunday
CCE are weekly classes that teach the doctrines and traditions of the church. Sacrament Sunday is specifically designed to provide formation for receiving the sacraments. All children enrolled to receive First Holy Communion must attend our monthly parent/child classes. These classes are in addition to regular weekly CCE classes. For the duration of your child’s sacrament formation, he/she is to be enrolled in two separate courses.
There are a total of six (6) classes and two (2) assessments
Your child is preparing to receive two (2) sacraments this school year. Therefore, there are two assessment interviews that must be completed prior to their reception of these sacraments. There are three (3) classes in the Fall Semester that prepare the children to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. There are three (3) classes in the Spring Semester that prepare the children to receive the acrament of Holy Communion.
There is only one makeup class scheduled for each month’s session
If you and/or your child missed a Sacrament Sunday class, you have an
opportunity to make it up. Please see the “Important Dates” sheet to see which makeup class to attend. If you missed both the class and the makeup class, you must schedule a private appointment to make it up. This may be subject to an additional $15 fee. The fee may be waived in consideration of a family emergency or illness.
All children enrolled in Sacrament Sunday must have already been baptized in the Catholic Church
